As part of my new course “Interior Design Fundamentals”  we will be looking at the effect of different colours.

Today I thought we would look at blue. What comes to mind when you visualise this colour? Maybe it is oceans, or the sky? How do you feel, what ambiance does it create?

Is this something you would wish to bring to an interior design? This is what my new course is all about.

Come and join me. Click the link below and let’s start this journey together!

A Bit of Culture

The Arts in Harrogate

From writing workshops to concerts and literature festivals Harrogate has it all!

Literature

Harrogate is the home of literature festivals from crime to non-fiction. Why Harrogate I hear you ask? We are close to the Yorkshire Moors which has been the inspiration of many great British writers including the Bronte’s (Wuthering Heights and Jane Air), the Old Swan Hotel, one our most famous hotels, is rumoured to be the hiding place of Agatha Christie during her mysterious disappearance.

More recently Fountains Abbey has been the inspiration for Antonia Hodgson’s award-winning Crime novel “A Death at Fountains Abbey” .

We are counting down the days till the return of Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival! Tickets will be going on sale soon for Harrogate 20-23 July 2023, so make sure to book yours in advance before they all disappear!

Raworths Literature Festival celebrated their 10th Anniversary of their literature festival last year.  They are set to return in October 2023 so watch this space!

Plus there is the fortnightly meeting of The Harrogate Writers Collective, which is currently taking place above the North Bar, and open to all writers. In Harrogate Library there are various free writing workshops available to all.

Art

Fountains Abbey has also been the inspiration of many local artists including our own, who have had their amazing work on display in our cottages- ready for purchase!

But our cottages are not the only galleries in town.  Since November 2022, a local artist Matthew Wyatt has been exhibiting his work in Harrogate Library. As of January 2023, the exhibition has since been moved a short distance to The Mercer Gallery,

Music

Harrogate also hosts several music festivals and concerts throughout the year.  Over the winter The Old Swan Hotel hosted a series of live performances from classical musicians.  Performers included renowned Japanese Violinist Coco Tomita, Classic FM rising star Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, and renowned pianist and Leeds International Piano Competition prize-winner Ashley Wass.

On the 7th-12th of April the International music festival is being held at Harrogate Ladies College (HLC), a short walk from most of our cottages.

There are also several renowned musicians and singers visiting Harrogate and Leeds to give live concerts including Alfe Boe, Andre Rieu, George Ezra and Olly Murrs.

Visit What's On - Harrogate Convention Centre to stay updated.

Theatre

Where would Harrogate be without its Theatre? There is always something on at Harrogate Theatre and The Royal Hall. From comedians to the Panto, Gilbert and Sullivan Festival to local productions, there is something for everyone. Head to the box office to see what’s on and book your tickets today!

Coming from out of town? Good news all our cottages are within reach of events in Harrogate. Book your stay with us today!

Our New Training Programs! (Home Page)

TMQA has recently become Tower Mains. We still offer the same quality assurance, but with new service offerings, which seek to enhance the quality of our clients’ own people and businesses.

We are proud to announce we are providing training courses to help you, your employees and colleagues stay up to date with the latest practices and guidelines.

Why should you come to us? (About Us)

We provide training relating to practices in all areas of scientific research including biotech, toxicology, and ecotoxicology.

By coming to us you will receive first rate training from health care professionals with expertise in your chosen field.

Our training courses are suited to help you maintain good laboratory practice, clinical research and NHS standards of practise.

What makes us stand out is that we offer group and individual training. This makes it easier for you to tailor our training program to your particular requirements.  It also means you can learn in an environment that suits you.

Each of our courses has been designed for a specific type of practice. Each form of research and medical practice has different rules and regulations. By developing our courses with this in mind, you can focus on the information specific to your business.

Our courses have been designed for live virtual training.

What Makes Virtual training different to classroom and webinar training? (Training)

Virtual training or remote training was designed for when instructor and student are in separate locations. This method emulates the classroom environment, in that students can discuss, and learn directly from our experts.

Unlike a webinar which is often pre-recorded, virtual learning is presented live through Zoom, google classroom or any kind of suitable video link.

For this reason, lessons can only be accessible at prearranged times. What gives remote learning an advantage, is the fact you have direct communication with an instructor.

To put it simply, webinars are online lectures, and remote training sessions are online lessons.

But why go online? Remote training enables our instructors to reach our clients wherever they are. For example, a laboratory based in Scotland can be taught by an expert in the U.S.  It also allows our clients to be taught from a location that suits them, be it at work, or from the comfort of their own home.

More on our courses

We run individual courses as one to ones as well as for groups. We aim to tailor our training to you and to your company so you can get the most out of it.

We teach all our courses through Live Virtual Learning to make them more accessible to our clients no matter where they are in the world.
